VideoThe Russian Andrej Roeblev has reached the last eight of the tennis tournament in Rotterdam without major problems. The number 4 on the placement list defeated veteran Andy Murray in two sets: 7-5 6-2. The game in Ahoy lasted 1 hour and 34 minutes.
The first set in Ahoy went smoothly for a long time. Murray (33) missed the first break point in the sixth game. In the eleventh game, the Scot returned his service, after which he was unable to use two break points in the next game. Roeblev (23) took advantage and cashed in on his first set point.
In the second set, Roeblev broke Murray’s resistance in the fifth game. The current number 123 in the world handed in his service after which he more or less gave up.
Both players faced each other once before. In 2017 at the Australian Open, Murray won quite simply in three sets.
Murray beat Robin Haase in three sets in Rotterdam in the first round. The Briton was allowed to participate in the event, which he won in 2009, thanks to a wild card.
Roeblev, the number 8 in the world, plays in the quarterfinals against the winner of the duel between Belgian David Goffin and Frenchman Jeremy Chardy.
