Roof of warehouse in Duiven collapsed, probably due to snow

Part of the roof of a warehouse has collapsed on a business park in Duiven. Since no employees are missing, the Gelderland-Midden Safety Region concludes that no one was in the building when the roof construction collapsed. It concerns a warehouse of parcel carrier TNT Express.

Although no cause has yet been officially established, the safety region assumes that the roof section has come down under pressure from the snow load. We are now waiting for experts to assess whether it is safe to enter the shed.

The shed is on a closed site. All of the company’s trucks are driven to a safer part of the site.

Museum, hockey hall, house

Previously, other buildings were damaged by the weight of the snow, such as the Freedom Museum in Groesbeek and an inflatable hockey hall in Winterswijk.

The house of darts player Raymond van Barneveld also suffered from the snowfall: part of the facade came loose, which led to chaos on the street.
