An 8-0 win. National coach Mark Parsons could use that after a week in which – in his own words – everything that could go wrong went wrong. Due to a lost passport and endless hassle with travel documents, the Englishman only joined the Orange squad on Thursday.
The football players shrugged their shoulders at the absence of their coach and did what they had to do against football dwarf Cyprus: 8-0. “It is difficult to get satisfaction from such a game,” said Jill Roord, who recorded her first hat-trick for the Orange squad.
“I have scored three times, of course I am happy with that. But it is not really about anything, this level. It is really annoying football this. They are all in the back and that makes it quite an annoying game.”
