Comedian Sanne Wallis de Vries does not understand that the cultural sector is not allowed to open, but shops do. That’s why she’s spreading tonight during talk show M a call to all artists and theaters in the Netherlands: join the national Kapsalontheaterdag next Wednesday.
Together with actor Diederik Ebbinge, who will convert the Kleine Komedie in Amsterdam into a hair salon next Wednesday, the comedian has created the playful action. “You can book an appointment and during the cutting you can be surprised by a performance,” says Wallis de Vries. “I reached four theaters today, who have confirmed that they will participate. The Orpheus in Apeldoorn, Parktheater Eindhoven, Walhallah in Rotterdam and the Rensentheater in Emmen. Next Wednesday I will play in the Rensentheater next to the hairdresser.”
Dear people, tonight at @this_is_M the follow up on last night and at the press conference. If theaters have to stay closed, action will follow on Wednesday, with an idea of @diederikebbinge in @dekleinecomedie that I (and many with me) want to ROLL OUT nationwide. See you tonight!

Hair salon theater day
The comedian invites all artists and theaters in the Netherlands to participate in the initiative. “We are fully adhering to the rules, just as it was before the lockdown. We want to give the artists the chance to perform again with this small conversion. I think it’s allowed, I assume it’s allowed,” said the comedian.
Theaters that want to participate will have to renovate on their own initiative. All information will later appear on a special Instagram account, where the action will be coordinated.
