Wesley Koolhof has booked his second tournament win in a row in the run-up to the Australian Open. After last week’s title in Melbourne, the 32-year-old Gelderlander alongside Briton Neal Skupski now also won the ATP tournament in Adelaide.
In the final, the duo defeated Ariel Behar from Uruguay and Gonzalo Escobar from Ecuador in straight sets: 7-6 (5), 6-4.
For Koolhof, who only recently formed a couple with the equally old Skupski, it was his ninth title on the ATP Tour. At the end of last year he broke off the collaboration with Jean-Julien Rojer.
Koolhof and Skupski now return to Melbourne, where they will play at the Australian Open. That first grand slam tournament of the year starts on Monday.
