The new Suzuki GSX-S1000GT will be available at the Dutch Suzuki dealer from the end of November. The big question: what will the starting price be? That fits everything. You pay 1,500 euros more compared to a Suzuki GSX-S1000 naked.
Lots of aluminum
The ingredients of the new Suzuki GSX-S1000GT are broadly the same as those of the GSX-S1000. For example, the GT variant also has a lightweight aluminum frame, a fully adjustable front fork and an aluminum swingarm. The seating position and the position of the steering wheel are of course different, as is a new 6.5-inch TFT color display with smartphone connectivity.
The package of assistance systems is somewhat extensive. For example, the GT variant has cruise control. Other systems include Low RPM Assist, ABS, the Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (three positions) and the Bi-directional Quickshifter.
The Suzuki GSX-S1000GT takes over the 19 liter fuel tank and 999 cc four-cylinder engine from the naked version. The block meets the latest EU5 emission requirements and delivers 106 Nm at 9,250 rpm. Peak power is 112 kW (152 hp) at 11,000 rpm.
Three colors for GSX-S1000GT
There is a choice of three colors for the GSX-S1000GT: Metallic Triton Blue, Metallic Reflective Blue and Glass Sparkle Black. The same starting price applies for all colors, namely 16,499 euros. For comparison: a Suzuki GSX-S1000 costs at least 14,999 euros.
Various accessories are optionally available, including a set of side cases in the color of the motorcycle. These cases have a capacity of 36 liters – spacious enough to fit a helmet – each and are tailored to the design of the GSX-S1000GT.
