Synaptics buys US chip maker DSP Group for $ 22 per share in cash

Synaptics has agreed to purchase US chip maker DSP Group for US $ 22 per share in cash. The transaction is expected to be immediately added to Synaptics’ adjusted earnings and should produce a synergistic effect of US $ 30 million annual execution within 12 months of completion. Synaptics will finance the acquisition with cash on hand and a phased, fully committed debt loan agreement that is expected to be completed by the end of December, subject to the approval of DSP Group shareholders and normal closing conditions. The transaction was approved by the boards of directors of both companies.
