Fans can prepare for at least two more seasons of the popular series The Handmaid’s Tale. Actress Ann Dowd, who plays Aunt Lydia in the series, reveals in the British magazine Radio Times that there will also be a sixth series.
The fourth season of The Handmaid’s Tale was broadcast last year. In 2020 it was already announced that there would be a fifth season, but news about another series was not yet known.
Dowd doesn’t know what will happen in both seasons. “The writers are very smart. They don’t tell the actors anything. What can I say about it? Nothing, because I have no idea what’s going to happen. I do know that there will be seasons five and six.”
Starting this month
The recordings of the fifth series will start at the end of this month, according to the actress. It is not clear when that season and the sixth will be broadcast.
The Handmade’s Tale, based on Margaret Atwood’s book of the same name, is about a religious imaginary society in which women no longer have any rights and are only used to bear children. Elisabeth Moss plays the lead role of June Osborne.
