Riot police dispersed crowds of supporters celebrating Morocco’s victory over Spain in the World Cup in several Dutch cities on Tuesday night.

The atmosphere was mostly positive, although some fans threw fireworks at the police and had to divert public transport because of the crowd. By 10pm all issues were resolved.

In The Hague, three people were arrested after police urged the Silderswijk crowd to go home.

In Amsterdam, six people were arrested after a large group gathered in the Mercator Square. They were dancing on their cars and setting off fireworks. Fireworks were also thrown at emergency services, trams and buses,” the city police said.

In Rotterdam, police said 35 people were arrested for throwing fireworks, refusing to show identification, threatening behavior and other violations of public order. One person was arrested in Utrecht.

Morocco will join the Netherlands in the quarter-finals after defeating Spain on penalties.

Note: This article was updated Tuesday night to reflect the updated arrest count.
