The seventh round in the Eredivisie is just around the corner. Five matches will be played on Saturday and Ajax, PSV and Feyenoord will be in action. There are four games on Sunday. What are the expected lineups and which players are missing this weekend? An overview.
Willem II – PSV (Saturday, 4.30 pm)
Details William II: Striker Otschi Wriedt has scored three times this season so far. In all cases, it was the opening goal of the match. Willem II won only two of the past 30 matches with PSV. That was in the recent past and both times in Tilburg: in 2018 with 5-0 and in 2019 with 2-1.
Specialties PSV: PSV may have Ibrahim Sangaré and Mario Götze available again in the Brabant derby against Willem II, but it is still unclear whether the duo can start. The muscle injury of Noni Madueke does not seem serious, but he will not be there on Saturday.

Ajax – FC Groningen (Saturday, 6.45 pm)
Special features Ajax: Dusan Tadic can make his 100th Eredivisie goal against FC Groningen, Remko Pasveer and Steven Berghuis play their 250th Eredivisie game and Ajax can keep ‘zero’ for the first time in three years in five consecutive competition matches.
Special features FC Groningen: Despite the fact that Mike te Wierik was acquitted of his red card against Vitesse, he is not present against Ajax. The defender is injured, as is Bart van Hintum. Daleho Irandust is passed because Danny Buijs thinks that the Swedish top purchase is not fit enough.

Vitesse – Fortuna Sittard (Saturday, 6.45 pm)
Specifics Speed: Vitesse is chasing the first home win of the competition. After the sof against Willem II and the debacle against FC Twente, the premier divisionist should spoil the Arnhem public against Fortuna Sittard, says coach Thomas Letsch. “We owe it to our supporters as well.” Danilho Doekhi returns after a suspension. “He starts in the base.”
Special features Fortuna Sittard: Mickael Tirpan cannot play on behalf of Fortuna Sittard in the match against Vitesse on Saturday evening. The defender, who dropped out on Tuesday in the home game with Ajax (0-5), is injured. Lisandro Semedo is again part of the match selection of the Limburgers in Gelredome stadium. He trained on Friday.
Feyenoord – NEC (Saturday, 9 p.m.)
Specifics Feyenoord: Trainer Arne Slot expects that Reiss Nelson will need a while to really join the match selection. The Arsenal mercenary is training with the group, but is not yet there against NEC. Marcus Pedersen has had a calf injury from the game against Heerenveen and will be sidelined against NEC.
Special features NEC: NEC can again have Dirk Proper, who was missing against FC Utrecht due to minor complaints. The Nijmegen team will have to do without Mikkel Duelund, who suffered a foot injury against FC Utrecht. Trainer Meijer sticks to the 4-3-3 system and will therefore not play with an extra defender.

FC Utrecht – PEC Zwolle (Saturday, 9 p.m.)
Details FC Utrecht: Captain Willem Janssen is expected to start again in the base. According to René Hake, the 35-year-old defender is in better physical shape than earlier in the week prior to the NEC-out (0-3). Then the trainer passed Janssen in favor of Mark van der Maarel.
Special features PEC Zwolle: After the first point and the first goal of the season, Wednesday against Sparta, the PEC trainer hopes for more against FC Utrecht. Another striking feature is the reserve role for Kenneth Paal. Just like Wednesday, he will start again on the bench.
Sparta – Cambuur (Sunday, 12.15 pm)
Particulars Sparta: Tom Beugelsdijk has still not recovered from his thigh injury. The defender will be replaced again by Michael Heylen on Sunday afternoon, in Sparta’s match against Cambuur. Whether Mica Pinto can play against the Frisians is still uncertain. If he is not ready to start, Aaron Meijers will take his position again. He already did this in last Wednesday’s game that ended in 1-1 with PEC Zwolle.
Special features Cambuur: Cambuur trainer Henk de Jong hopes to have Marco Tol again against Sparta. Against Heracles, Tol was successfully replaced by Jhondly van der Meer, who made his basic debut. The match comes too early for Erik Schouten anyway.
Heerenveen – FC Twente (Sunday, 2.30 pm)
Details Heerenveen: Rodney Kongolo is training again at SC Heerenveen after his illness, but must first gain strength to be back in the match selection. Rami Kaib, on the other hand, is returning from a jaw injury. The match is dominated by the opening of the Riemer and Foppe stands.
Special features FC Twente: Ricky van Wolfswinkel’s injury, he dropped out against AZ, seems to be not too bad. It remains to be seen who got the armpit fresh from Thursday’s confrontation.
AZ – Go Ahead Eagles (Sunday, 2:30 PM)
Specialties AZ: AZ trainer Pascal Jansen still cannot have Aslak Witry against Go Ahead Eagles. The Norwegian is still sick. Just like against FC Twente, he will be replaced by Yukinari Sugawara. Captain Owen Wijndal was taken out early against Twente as a precaution. Jansen hopes to be able to fully deploy Wijndal against Go Ahead again.
Special features Go Ahead Eagles: Go Ahead Eagles has few personnel problems in the run-up to the game with AZ – which surprisingly has three points less than the team from Deventer. In addition to the long-term injured Frank Ross and Sam Crowther, only Jacob Mulenga is missing in the selection of trainer Kees van Wonderen. The experienced center striker is struggling with a muscle injury to the thigh. Van Wonderen is curious whether GA Eagles can once again ‘hold up against a top team’ after the good match against PSV (1-2).
Heracles Almelo – RKC Waalwijk (Sunday, 4.45 pm)
Special features Heracles: Defender Marco Rente was injured against Cambuur, but seems fit in time for the home game against RKC. Furthermore, there are no special features in Frank Wormuth’s team that is licking the wounds after the undeserved defeat in Friesland.
RKC details: RKC has two days more recovery time after the midweek inning than opponent Heracles. Even then it is doubtful whether that is enough for Alexander Büttner, who was injured against Willem II. Richard van der Venne and Vurnon Anita also missed a number of group training sessions this week. In the preparation, both teams already met once in Almelo. RKC lost without a chance with 4-1.
