Every morning in Tokyo Wake Up Service, we briefly look back at the past Olympic night and look forward to the remaining program of the Dutch Olympians.
We have to wait for the second Dutch medal in Tokyo after the archers yesterday. The relay swimmers finished in the 4x100m freestyle with fourth place just off the podium.
Schermer Bas Verwijsen has won his first game and could win a medal today. That is no longer the case for boxer Enrico Lacruz; he was knocked out.
The handball women also strive for a medal. They started well in Tokyo by convincingly winning their first group match. Sailor Marit Bouwmeester disappointed with 21st place in her first race.
Later today there will be the climax of the road race for cyclists with Annemiek van Vleuten and Anna van der Breggen as major contenders and the gymnasts will try to force final places in their disciplines.
And just like yesterday, the hockey men, 3×3 basketball players and Kiki Bertens are back in action. You can see which Dutch people we will see more in the program card below.
