Spanish top talent Pedri has extended his contract with FC Barcelona for four years. The 18-year-old midfielder is now with the Spanish club until the summer of 2026. Pedri moved from Las Palmas to Barcelona last year and immediately conquered a basic place in the team of coach Ronald Koeman. Like Frenkie de Jong, he participated in 37 of the 38 competition matches.
The midfielder made his national team debut early this year. In the summer he participated with Spain in the European Championship and the Olympic Games. Pedri played no fewer than 78 matches in one year.
Reportedly, his new contract contains a limited lump sum of 1 billion euros. That means that a club that puts down 1 billion can buy Pedri without having to negotiate with Barcelona.
According to Spanish media, the Catalan club also wants to extend the contracts of the talents Ansu Fati and Gavi in the short term. Koeman’s team will play against Valencia on Sunday and will have home games against Dinamo Kiev (Champions League) and Real Madrid next week.
