Top tennis player Naomi Osaka takes management into her own hands | Tennis

“I do things my own way in my career, even when people say it’s not as expected or in the usual way,” Osaka said. “Setting up Evolve is the natural next step in my journey as a sportswoman and businesswoman and also a way to stay true to myself and do things my way.”

Osaka won her first grand slam title at the US Open in 2018 and was the best at the Australian Open a year later. She won both tournaments again in 2020 (US Open) and 2021 (Australian Open). Osaka also reached number one in the world rankings, although she is now in number 38. The Japanese is seen as the highest paid sportswoman in the world with all her business deals.

Last year, Osaka addressed the mental problems that many top athletes have to deal with. She decided to boycott the press at Roland Garros and eventually withdrew from the grand slam tournament because of all the commotion her boycott caused. The tennis star then missed Wimbledon.
