Transavia cancels 42 more flights due to capacity issues

Airline Transavia has canceled 42 more flights between now and Sunday due to aircraft shortages, causing problems for thousands more passengers.

A KLM subsidiary has already been forced to cancel dozens of flights in the past few weeks, leaving some passengers stranded at their holiday destinations.

The new cancellations include 21 round trip flights to Southern Europe from the airports of Schiphol, Eindhoven and Rotterdam.

In total, the flights can accommodate around 8,000 passengers.

Transavia cites maintenance issues and slow delivery times as reasons for capacity issues. In particular, delivery of three new aircraft is behind schedule.
