The planned transfer of Donyell Malen from PSV to Borussia Dortmund is basically complete. If all goes well, he will be medically examined by his upcoming new club this weekend. Malen definitely does not seem to be returning to Eindhoven now that Borussia Dortmund and PSV have largely found each other verbally.
He was supposed to train again on Saturday at training complex De Herdgang, but is preparing himself – ice and again – for the step to ‘Die Borussen’.
Consultation with Raiola
Business observer Mino Raiola was seen in Eindhoven on Thursday and, according to sources of this newspaper, had top consultations with PSV. There are also reportedly discussions with Borussia Dortmund director Michael Zorc. He wants Malen to fly in as soon as possible to the training camp of the German club in Switzerland, although all verbal agreements still have to be worked out.
PSV will – as it looks now – receive close to 30 million euros for Malen, but a number of clauses are still being negotiated. For example, bonuses can be added that make the amount higher.
Ajax will receive 1.5 percent of the transfer fee and Arsenal 1 percent. In addition, agent Mino Raiola had agreements with PSV about the distribution of a transfer fee. These agreements can be completely changed in the event of a definitive transfer, which makes it difficult to estimate how much PSV will have left over. The latter is difficult anyway because there may still be bonus agreements with Dortmund, of which it is not 100 percent sure whether they will be paid out. As mentioned, these parts of the deal still have to be worked out.
