Two employees of the The Hague police have been suspended due to “a suspicion of serious dereliction of duty”, the police reported in a press release. One of them is suspected of disproportionate violence in the event of an arrest, and subsequently reporting that violence “inaccurately or inaccurately”. The arrested suspect has reported assault, police said.
The Security, Integrity and Complaints team of the police has now started a disciplinary investigation, but a criminal investigation has also been launched by the Public Prosecution Service. One of the employees who was made redundant was also identified as a suspect.
As long as the investigation by the Public Prosecution Service is ongoing, the employees involved will not have access to the police buildings and systems. The Public Prosecution Service and the police do not want to comment on the case.
