Beyuna Lifestyle Tips – Clean Eating: How To Support Your Health

80% of the foods and promotions offered in supermarkets are unhealthy. This is the result of a study carried out by the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sports in collaboration with Wageningen University and Research, VU University Amsterdam and Utrecht University. And it’s not just a Dutch problem. Poor processed food is a true pandemic. solution? Eat clean!

What is Clean Eating? This means food that is not factory processed and not packaged in packets or sachets. Follow the steps below to support your health.

eat food naturally

A good rule of thumb for eating clean is to avoid food from packaging and eat food in its original form whenever possible. You can also limit the number of pesticides you take in by choosing organic too. Avoid refined foods, fast carbs and sugar. More than half of the products sold in supermarkets contain added sugar. Also, choose whole grains over white flours, which have no nutritional value.

read the label

If you don’t usually do this, it takes a little extra time when you go grocery shopping, so it will take some getting used to. You want your foods to contain as little electronic number, sugar, salt, and preservatives as possible. These omega-6 fats have the effect of promoting inflammation instead of promoting health.

pick vegetables

Eat a rainbow! Limit (refined) carbohydrates and (processed) meats and eat more vegetables, fruits, legumes, nuts and seeds. Combine legumes and whole grains or nuts and seeds for a complete protein. Get healthy fats from nuts, avocados, and olive oil, and eat complex, fiber-rich carbohydrates like (sweet potato) potatoes, whole grain products (brown rice, quinoa, oats), vegetables, and fruits.

water, tea, coffee

To keep your body hydrated, drink at least 1.5 liters of water a day, alternating with (unsweetened) tea or coffee. Coffee and tea come from plants. Avoid soft drinks and fruit juices, which are sugar and calorie bombs.
