450-employee jeans store Score files for bankruptcy

Clothing store chain Score has been declared bankrupt by a court in Zutphen. Jeans brand “Chasin'” owned by the same owner also falls into bankruptcy. The bankruptcy puts the jobs of about 450 employees at risk.

Scores have been on Dutch shopping streets for decades. Entrepreneur Jan Peters opened his first store in Apeldoorn in 1981 and has since continued to expand. At the time of bankruptcy, Score & Chasin had more than 50 stores in the Netherlands, an online store and other outlets abroad, according to the Zutphen court.

According to Het Parol, Score has three stores in Amsterdam: Kalverstraat, Nieuwendijk and Leidsestrasse. However, what will happen to them is still unknown.
