This weekend’s highlights include the Rotterdam International Film Festival, St Andrews Society Barnes Night Seely, and STETS’ English-language play for children, Very Old Man With Enormous Wing.
There are also many other events taking place this weekend, including Robbie Williams’ performance at the Ziggo Dome and the first Lego League at the Museon-Omniversum.

The Rotterdam International Film Festival (IFFR), which runs from January 25th to February 5th, has announced the films selected for the 2023 Tiger, Big Screen and Amod Tiger Short Competition.
Henrik Martin Dahlsbakken’s Munch opens the festival, while Varun Grover’s All India Rank closes the festival. The festival also announced that Steve McQueen’s artwork The Sunshine State will be on display during the festival.
The St Andrews Society of Holland Burns’ Night Cayley Dance will take place on Friday 27th January 2023.
They planned an evening of music, Scottish country dancing, a glass of wine or beer, and traditional Scottish food the way Robbie Burns proclaimed over 200 years ago. This year’s venue is the Leonardo Royal Hotel Promenade The Hague.
On January 28th and 29th, STET will bring the play “Very Old Man with Huge Wings” inspired by the work of Gabriel García Márquez to Theater Aan Het Spei. For children ages 8 and up and adults of all ages
Bringing Gabriel García Márquez’s dark and comical story to a stage where children and adults can share. In the kitchen, at the theater, two narrators and their audience find something amazing — a very old man with huge wings.
On Sunday, January 29th, The Thin White Duke will pay tribute to the charismatic musician for whom they are named, David Bowie!
Thin White Duke is made up of experienced top musicians, passionate interpretations of Bowie’s timeless sound. The famous tune is complemented by his duo of key signature melodies and dizzying guitars. Strong and passionate tenor sax and visuals complete the David Bowie celebration!
