Willem II confirms the arrival of wing attacker Nick Doodeman | William II

Doodeman went through the youth academy of AZ, where he made it to the U23 team. With Jong AZ, the attacker became convincing champion of the Third Division in 2017, his group included players such as Owen Wijndal, Teun Koopmeiners, Guus Til and Calvin Stengs. Where those players from that champion team all experienced their breakthrough in the Eredivisie and all even became Orange-international, Doodeman mainly played in the Kitchen Champion Division.

He transferred to FC Volendam in the summer of 2017, where he became a highly regarded force. In three and a half years, he made 126 league games, in which he was good for 26 goals and 43 assists. In 2018/19 he was even named Player of the Year by the supporters in the fishing village. In January 2021 it was announced that SC Cambuur would take over him in the summer of the same, but a week later the Frisians reported that they would take over Doodeman from FC Volendam immediately.

In Leeuwarden, however, he never really managed to break through. In six months of KKD and a year in the Eredivisie, he made 28 games, one goal and five assists. The last time Doodeman was in the starting lineup was on January 21, against his old club AZ. He then came into action in six more matches, but those were all substitutions of a maximum of fifteen minutes. Now he hopes to give his career at Willem II a boost. Doodeman has signed a contract for three seasons.
