The Hague will host the World Sailing Championships from 10 to 20 August 2023, with the central theme of ‘preparing for the best’.
Allianz WK SeirenKnown in Dutch, the event attracts over 1,200 participants to compete in sailing, kitesailing and windsurfing events in Scheveningen. With an organized team of 400 people and around 600 volunteers, this is the largest sporting event ever held in The Hague.

With 85 nations participating, our city at sea welcomes the world wholeheartedly.
The public is also welcomed to Festival at Sea each day, where you can watch the crew prepare to set sail in the morning, and enjoy activities for young and old, including water sports and music. A particular focus is on making the sport of water more accessible to children and encouraging everyone to connect more with the ocean. After all, water is a big part of Holland.
For an event of this magnitude, organizers are aware of the impact on local residents and are planning in consultation with neighbors. The event will be held at multiple locations to minimize traffic issues.
