The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the UK invites you to attend the annual Dutch National Memorial Service (“Nationale Herdenking”) on 4 May 2023 at the Dutch Field of Honor at Mill Hill Cemetery.

The ceremony will be held at the Dutch Field of Honor, Mill Hill Cemetery, London, NW7 2RR.
A reception will be held in the Chapel on Thursday 4 May 2023 from 7pm to 7:40pm BST. Positions in Dutch Fields of Honor must be taken by 7:45pm. Access to the Field of Honor closes at 7:50 PM to avoid disrupting the ceremony.
The ceremony will be conducted in Dutch.

During the national commemoration of Remembrance Day (“National Herdenking”), we commemorate all civilians killed or murdered in a war situation or in peacekeeping operations in the Kingdom of the Netherlands or anywhere in the world since the outbreak of war. and commemorate soldiers. Ceremony at Mill Hill, London
Place a (provided) tulip in one of the graves (7:50pm) before gathering for the memorial service and have the chance to hear personal stories of those buried in the Fields of Honor in Holland . .
A few weeks before the ceremony, the Ministry of Defense at the Dutch Embassy and Dr. Belgian van de Laggemaert from the Dutch Church will discuss the national mourning ceremony with students from the Regenborg School in the Netherlands. At the ceremony, students from his Regenboogschool in Holland will share the stories of those buried in the Dutch Field of Honor.
Ambassador Karel van Oosterom lays a wreath on behalf of the Dutch government during the ceremony at Mill Hill Cemetery. Other wreaths are placed to represent the Dutch Army, Engelandvaarders, Vereniging Neerlandia and Dutch Church London. This year, the German ambassador to the UK will also attend the ceremony.

Directions to Mill Hill Cemetery
by car from London
Head north on the A1 to the Mill Hill Circus roundabout. Go completely through the roundabout and follow the A1 towards London for 50 meters. Turn left just before Esso Station (Daws Lane B1416). At the next T-junction turn right onto Wise Lane. Cemetery at the end, free parking.
by public transport
The nearest tube station is Mill Hill East Station on the Northern Line. 15 minute walk to the cemetery.
