AWC The Hague 12 Days of Kindness

The American Women’s Club (AWC) of The Hague is celebrating its first Christmas at its new clubhouse in Benoadenhout by hosting the ’12 Days of Kindness’ initiative.

12 Days of Kindness is AWC’s commitment to perform various acts of kindness during the first 12 days of December 2022 to benefit individuals and groups within and outside the community. This is a “friendly” advent calendar.

Participation from all areas of AWC is invited, and groups and members contribute to the cause or donate of some kind (time, items, or money).

AWC has put together an amazing program of events, activities and acts ready to start on Thursday, December 1st.

12 days of kindness highlights include a special high tea An event in support of the Upside Cafe on the Weissenbruchstraat (near the club house), which employs adults with special needs. Also included is a walking tour of The Hague with club member Ada.

Donations in the form of groceries, blankets and books are also made to local food banks, animal shelters and local Ukrainian families.

The 11th of the 12 days is a special day when AWC members commit to acts of kindness to benefit their families, neighbors or other AWC members. The Club will establish a Kindness List consisting of item offers or acts of kindness from Club Members that may benefit others. Examples include much-loved book donations, gardening and baking offerings, furniture items, art and handmade crafts. AWC members can then claim to be recipients of any of the items or acts on the list.

We are very excited to start the 12 Days of Kindness program. I also hope that many will benefit from the gentle vibrations of kindness that this program creates.
