Cannatech expo 2022 will showcase the tech driving the cannabis boom

The cannabis industry is evolving at breakneck speed, with legal reform, changing customer needs, a host of new strains and clinical breakthroughs regarding their uses all coming thick and fast on top of one another. It means cannatech is one of the most exciting and profitable tech niches in 2022. This year’s Cannatech Expo in Fort Lauderdale will showcase the latest innovations.

Cannabis is no longer the shadowy commodity it was in the 20th century. Changing attitudes, legal reform and transparent information-sharing through online resources like Cannaconnection have brought it into the light.

 The rise of cannatech

Technology touches every aspect of the cannabis supply chain, from growing to processing to manufacture to retail and distribution. Yet this is a relatively young industry – after all, it was only 10 years ago that Colorado became the first US state to legalize cannabis. As a result, those working in cannatech can find themselves highly siloed, with encyclopedic knowledge of their own technology but little or no visibility of how it fits into the broader market.

 Information sharing

From seed to sale, the cannabis sector has unique technological challenges relating to such areas as security, compliance, traceability and storage requirements to name just a few. Cannatech Expo 2022 is a three day event that will allow everyone involved in the industry to come together and to get a clear view of the big picture. It will run from June 21 to June 24 at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale.

 Industy experts

As well as providing businesses in the cannatech sector with an opportunity to demonstrate their wares and to network with other industry players, there will be a number of demonstrations and guest speakers. The latter include Blake Schwank, CEO of Colorado Computer Support, Duane Roebuck, Senior Marketing Manager from BlueStar, Harry Breslford, CEO of SMB Nation and Paul Seaborn an Assistant Professor at McIntire School of Commerce. More speakers will be confirmed closer to the date.

A rapidly growing area of tech

This will be the first event of its kind, being a three day expo entirely dedicated to cannatech. It follows on from cannatech being recognized as an increasingly important discipline that was almost tagged on to other events. Cannatech first started to be taken seriously at the Pacific Agriculture Show in 2019. It quickly became obvious that the sector is growing at lightning pace, and demand for cannatech solutions will only increase as more states press on with legal reform for both medical and recreational cannabis.

As the industry grows and matures, it will be all the more important that growers, retailers, government agencies, research bodies and regulators are coordinated and evolve in step with one another. Cannatech lies at the heart of making it happen.

Whether you are directly involved in the industry or just have a passion for tech, cannabis or both, Cannatech Expo 2022 is an event you shouldn’t miss. Registration is open now via the Cannatech Expo website.
