Croatia plane crash kills 3 Dutch
The Dutch foreign ministry said on Sunday that three Dutch nationals were killed in a small plane crash in Croatia. The ministry provided consular assistance.
Croatian news agency HINA said the plane was on its way from Maribor, Slovenia, to Pula, Croatia on Saturday. Croatian mountain rescue service HGSS said the plane disappeared from radar around 12:30 p.m. on Mount Capelli in Lika Senj province.
The country’s chief aviation inspector, Danko Petrin, previously told HINA that all three passengers and crew were dead.
The cause of the crash is still unknown. The Croatia News Agency said thick fog had formed that afternoon, which could have significantly reduced visibility.
The cause of the crash has not yet been determined, Perrin said. He said bad weather should not automatically be assumed to be the cause of the accident.
