French star writer Welbeck calls for ban on porn films

French literary star Michel Houellebecq is seeking a ban on a sexually explicit film featuring the author awaiting release, his lawyer said Tuesday.

The global best-selling author also wants the trailer for the movie “Kirac 27” by Dutch filmmaker Stefan Leitenbeek removed, they said.

A trailer released in January shows a shirtless Houellebecq kissing a young woman in bed.

That’s an off-camera commentary by Ruitenbeek, who says Houellebecq wrote him that his honeymoon in Morocco was called off after his wife “spent a month booking a prostitute.” Contains

Houellebecq and his wife Lysis “discovered with shock and disgust” that the trailer contained “serious and false statements that violently attacked their dignity,” said lawyer Angelique Velez. Maia Kanter said in a statement.

The couple has launched “civil and criminal” legal proceedings to ban the film, which is set to release in March, and a trailer containing “defamatory” comments.

They hope to “end these attacks immediately” by removing the trailer from all internet platforms and banning the director and his team from showing the film.

In a message to the director confirmed by AFP, Welbeck said the trailer was an attack on his honor and personal life and “most of all” on his wife, who was “devastated by the lies” in the video. ” he said.

Meanwhile, Luitenbeek told the Vice News site last week that the idea to shoot a pornographic film came from Welbeck and his wife after seeing “Honeypot,” a previous film by the “Kirak” collective.

“So they wanted to do something similar,” he said in an interview with the site, where Lisis Houellebecq told Luitenbeek that if she wanted to do something for her husband, she should “turn him into a pornstar.” I quoted him saying, “I have to.”

The first scene was shot the next day with Welbeck and a young woman named Gini van Loen, who worked with the director and “loves Welbeck,” Leitenbeek said.

“It was incredible. They played all kinds of positions,” he said. “He is very good in bed.”

Filming took place in Amsterdam, Paris, over six days, and included scenes in which Welbeck discusses philosophy with a total of four sexual partners, as well as a visit to a restaurant, the director said.

Welbeck was a controversial author, often accused of capitalizing on right-wing fears of Islam in France.

The French Mosque Union told AFP last month that it was suing Welbeck for discrimination, hate speech and incitement to violence in statements to interviewers.

In 2015, Welbeck made international headlines with his “submission” of a Muslim election to the presidency.

He was nominated for last year’s Nobel Prize in Literature, which was eventually won by Annie Ernault of France, who called Houellebecq’s ideas “totally reactionary and anti-feminist.”
