Former minister Aly Thlob, who was appointed by the Hague City Council to explore the possibility of running the city with a new majority coalition, wrote to councilors on 13 July about the progress made so far.
He wrote that he had already had 20 conversations in the past week and a half. All factions recognize the seriousness of the situation and feel a responsibility to find common solutions, Slob said.
Slob also concluded that after a tough political year, everyone was ready for a period of rest and reflection, and that talks would resume in mid-August.
