Italian tourist dies after being rescued from Amsterdam canal
An Italian tourist who fell into a canal in central Amsterdam died hours later at a nearby hospital, police confirmed to the NL Times on Saturday. A rescue party was dispatched to Kroveniersburgvall to save the 24-year-old man at about 12:30 am.
Around 12:35 a.m., an ambulance was called to say that someone had fallen into the water. In response, dispatchers dispatched police, a fire department diving team, and at least two ambulances to the scene. A trauma team was flown into the area shortly thereafter.
The helicopter landed on the Marine Terrain on Kattenburger Strasse. From there, police units transported the doctor to the scene in Kloveniersburgwall. Fire Department divers found the victim in the water. He was taken to hospital by ambulance, but died a few hours later.

Details of how he fell into the sea are unknown. Investigators are looking for witnesses It may provide more information about how the victim fell into the water. They are also calling on people who have camera footage of RingMyDoorbell to come forward.
