Minimum wage to be raised by 2% from July 1

The upcoming minimum wage hike will increase net earnings for employees over the age of 21 by about 2%. Those earning the minimum wage will receive an additional €36.27 from July, HR service provider Visma Raet has calculated. In total, the minimum wage he will increase by just over 3%.

This brings the minimum wage to €1,995 per month for those aged 21 and over. The amount will be adjusted again on January 1, but will apply to 36-hour workers thereafter. People who work more hours will earn more money. The Netherlands will switch to a minimum hourly wage system from 2024. This is fairer as 36, 38 or 40 hour workweeks apply in different areas. Employees themselves have no influence over this.

Based on the minimum wage applicable from 1 July, Visma Raet calculated that those who work 38 hours a day will receive an additional sum of around €110 a month in 2024. For a 40-hour workweek, the total monthly wage is around €222. strong euro.
