Her Royal Highness Princess Marguerite of the Netherlands is a guest speaker at the Freedom Concert in Arlington, Virginia on Wednesday, May 10.
The 2nd Freedom Concert is organized by the National Park Service and the Royal Netherlands Embassy in honor of the Dutch Liberation Day (May 5th).
Keynote speech by Princess Marguerite On the importance of celebrating freedom. The event will also feature special performances by caroners Edward Nassau (USA) and Rosemarie Suntiens (Netherlands), as well as by her Washington Ballet School.
The Freedom Concert will be held in Carillon, The Netherlands. This 127-foot-tall musical monument was a gift from Queen Juliana to President Truman in 1952. It was given as a gift by the Dutch people to the American people as a token of appreciation for their support during and after World War II.
The carillon, with its 53 bells, is a symbol of peace and freedom and a reminder of the strong ties between America and Holland.
